Dell Recalls 4.1 Million Laptop Batteries

Dell announced that they are recalling 4.1 million laptops that were sold from April 2004 to July 18, 2006.  The recall affects certain Inspiron, Precesion, and Latitude laptops.  This recall comes in the wake of several reports of batteries catching fire and destroying the laptops.  These batteries were made by Sony.  For more details on the recall including which models are affected, click here

    I bought a replacement battery for my Dell laptop about a month ago from and it works great. Is there any reason to think that a replacement laptop battery would be any worse that the manufacturers?
